SproutSpoken ‘pops up’ for the first time in lovely Looe, with a hearty helping of spoken word at every local’s favourite, The Jolly Sailor (with thanks to Zoe and Garry!)
The night takes a form of a friendly open-mic with a safe, fun and welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for first-timers to spoken word and performance poetry… or maybe you’re a seasoned pro!

Having started in 2017 in a little health food shop down a forgotten lane, SproutSpoken began to give a platform for local people to share their words with the world. Since then, a vibrant community has grown – with some ‘up front’ on the stage and others happy to be faithful audience members… regularly meeting to celebrate creativity, connection, stories, poetry, the power of words and the joy of ‘having a go’! Some previous SproutSpoken attendees had never shared their poem before and it was the beginning of a journey of confidence and fun!
This is the third pop-up from Newquay-based, SproutSpoken, after two visits to intoBodmin. With visits to other Cornish towns in the pipeline, get in touch if you’d like to see us come to you!
