St Austell Players presents A Streetcar Named Desire

“They told me to take a streetcar named Desire and then transfer to one called Cemeteries and ride six blocks and get off at – Elysian Fields!”

Blanche Dubois arrives in New Orleans to visit her sister Stella and her husband Stanley. It is 1947 and the world has changed from the rural Mississippi where she grew up. The weather and the music are hot, the neighbourhood is mixed, rowdy and crowded and Blanche must try to navigate this strange new world. Can she find her way amongst the violence and passion of Stella and Stanley’s world? Or will her past catch up with her…
