About this event
There’s something rather special about St Ives in spring. Clear bright expansive skies, fresh wild sea air, it’s the ideal time to blow away cobwebs, get out, and embrace the elements.
It’s also the perfect combination for a free, fun activity for all – Kite Flying!
St Ives Kite Fest is made up of free activities all throughout March – all culminating with Flight Day at The Island on Saturday the 26th.
Join us at our free Kite Making Workshops in St Ives Library on the 12th and 19th (booking recommended to guarantee yourself a space), run by ‘Dr Kite’ Billy Wynter and Barnoon Workshop. If you can’t make it to the workshops, you can download our free step-by-step kite making guide from stiveskitefest.co.uk!
You can also help to create bunting that will decorate the super-sized ‘Town Kite’ – every Thursday in March at St Ives Farmers Market in the Guildhall.
Whether you make your own kite or buy one, we’re looking forward to seeing you on The Island, ready to take flight at 2pm on Saturday the 26th March.
