About this event

Come and hear rousing tunes and magical melodies weaving lyrical stories of the sea.

Set in the picturesque fishing harbour of St Ives outside the busy summer season the Shanty Shout allows visitors to enjoy the music and stories in a relaxed atmosphere. The enjoyment and enthusiasm of the performers is infectious and visitors new to shanty are just as likely to have a fantastic time as seasoned fans.

The event is organised in collaboration with Friends of Edward Hain to raise funds. Betty ‘Cornwall’s Charity Maid’ will be around to give the fundraisers a helping hand.

The singing takes place at a range of venues and we hope you’ll find one that suits your needs: Bier Huis Grand Cafe, Cafe Art, Harbour View House, Host, Pedn Olva, the Pilchard Press, the Queen’s Hotel, Sea of Coffee, Tretho Lounge and The Western Hotel.
