About this event
St Piran’s Day (Gool Peran in Cornish) is the county day of Cornwall, held on 5 March every year. The day is named after one of the patron saints of Cornwall, Saint Piran, who is also the patron saint of tin miners.
There is an exciting line-up of events planned for St Piran’s Day 2022, on Saturday 5th March.
Parade, speeches & songs
The St Piran’s Day parade will begin at 13.00, leaving from Waterfall Gardens on St George’s Road, heading towards the War Memorial on Boscawen Street, before culminating at High Cross for speeches and songs.
Window Competition
Truro businesses are being enouraged by Truro BID to take part in a St Piran’s themed window competition. The competition will be judged on the morning of St Piran’s Day by Mayor of Truro, Cllr Steven Webb, and Truro’s Town Crier, Lionel Knight.
