About this event
Do play, make, rest and experiment in the Foyle Studio this holiday…
Join us in STUDIO DO to play with new soft and sensory sculptures created by artist duo WABKIN this summer.
Commissioned as part of our Teylu at Tate programme, artists Frances Daykin and Huhtamaki Wab have collaborated to make new fabric sculptures for our holiday programme. Play with these sensory creations and take part in large-scale mark making, with collaborative drawing games and prompts provided by WABKIN.
Daykin and Wab’s work draws inspiration from animism, folk traditions and non-anthropocentric worlds. The sculptures were made using repurposed and recycled materials from Plymouth Scrap Store and are designed to be touched, leant on, embraced and played with.
As part of the project, the artists worked with our local audiences in creative junk sessions to co-design and imagine the different ways in which functional objects could become mythical creatures.
Free with a gallery admission ticket, Local’s Pass or Tate Membership. Under 19’s go free.
