Lydia Christine will be exhibiting her narrative illustrations. Karen Howse will be sharing her place-based prints and drawings. Both artists will have affordable prints & cards for sale.
About the Artists
Karen is an artist explorer who likes to be curious. She makes drawings, prints, and walks,
she also draws people together, engaging their creativity through place-based projects.
Karen has an MA in fine art from Falmouth University. A recent book created with the
community, celebrating nature on our doorstep, ‘The Peoples Herbarium’, can be seen in
the Lawrence House Museum pop-up, also in town! Karen will set up a temporary studio
space throughout the event.
Lydia is an illustrator with a focus on storytelling through visual language. Having graduated in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic, she and her peers had to adapt to the lack of human interaction, as did the rest of the world. Through this she realised how important community is, whatever form that may take, when people from such different walks of life come together and create. She has since been freelance and undertaken her own projects to explore different topics. Lydia also makes murals in the community and for commission hoping to bring a little life to otherwise looked past walls and bring ideas to life. Lydia will also be working on a children’s book, so the public can engage with the process.
They are excited to be collaborating on the Hello Project with you!
