Teens Summer Cookery Camp – 1 day cookery course

Running on the 20th and 21st August 2025.

This 1 day course is perfect for teenagers wanting to gain a little kitchen confidence during the summer holidays.

We will guide your teen (13-16 year old’s) to cook a main course and either a starter or a dessert for the whole family (enough for 4 portions of each course). Your teen will also make themselves a sweet snack to enjoy at morning break.

Cooking isn’t just about being creative, it is also about being hygienic and organised. To this end, there will also be a focus, during the day, on the practical side of cookery; ensuring your teen knows how to wash up and cook in a safe and hygienic way!

At lunchtime, your teen will sit in the cookery school café to enjoy a home-made packed lunch.

Please note although no advanced skills are required, it would be helpful if your teen has a keen interest in cookery and some experience so that they get the most out of the course.

What will the day look like?

Session 1 – 9.00 -10.50

Cooking a baked snack e.g. white chocolate and cranberry flapjacks for break & prep for session 2

Break – 10.50 – 11.10

Session 2 – 11.10 – 12.50

Cooking the day’s main course e.g. Moroccan chicken tray bake with couscous and braised coriander carrots & prep for session 3

Lunch – 12.50 – 2.00

Session 3 – 2.05 – 3.45

Cooking the day’s starter e.g. sundried tomato, pesto and mozzarella tart or dessert e.g. chocolate mousse

Break – 3.45 – 4.05

Session 4 – 4.05 – 4.45

Deep clean of the kitchen and finishing off any dishes
