About this event
Join us on Friday 4th October when John Hunt will be discussing his work helping to re-wild an area of land in Costa Rica and bringing it closer to home with his re-wilding work within the U.K.
‘Restore ( an area of land ) to its natural uncultivated state , used especially with reference to the re-introduction of species of wild animals that have been driven out or exterminated’. – The Oxford Dictionary definition of ‘Rewild’
No stranger to adventure, John has previously sailed across the Atlantic in a race called ‘The Arc’, on board as the boat medic, and he also visits Costa Rica every year with his wife to help re-wild part of a 46 acre site.
In the hopes of sharing his experiences within nature, John set up Look Adventures to document his travel experiences through his YouTube channel and now also shares his adventures through a series of talks based around his adventures.
‘It’s hard to overstate how much good nature does for our well-being: study after study documents the psychological and physical benefits of connecting with nature. People who are more connected with nature are happier, feel more vital and have more meaning in their lives.’ – John Hunt
Our regular and informal supper clubs are a lovely opportunity to gather with friends and family members for a 2 course fish supper and coffee (or tea), followed by a talk. We gather from 6.30pm for a welcome drink in the golf bar and function area ready to sit down for dinner at 7pm.
