About this event
Do something memorable, & raise funds for Unicef, Ukraine
Synchronised Swimming is all about unity, and as part of the Penzance Arts Festival ‘22, you can be a part of something spectacular; an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘largest number of people performing a synchronised swimming routine.’
No experience is required, but you must be up for the challenge of learning a simple, two-minute routine, attending 3-4 rehearsals and then performing the routine with up to 300 other swimmers…
Half the swimmers will wear yellow swim caps, the other half will wear blue (caps provided), which will form the Ukranian flag across the iconic lido.
‘Swim for Ukraine’ is being produced by artist, Anthony Garratt in collaboration with Newlyn School of Art, for the Penzance Arts Festival 2022.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Community Renewal Fund in Cornwall.
