About this event
Landscape Take Five artists are returning to the Poly for a new exhibition of work inspired by the landscape.
The landscape and countryside are the starting point for their work, and each artist develops their ideas in their chosen medium of ceramics, textiles, paint, ink and print. By the use of these different mediums, this exhibition gives the viewer an insight into how each artist approaches the subject of the environment and landscape.
Karen Needham Ceramics
Hand built, stoneware with unpredictable lava glazes resulting in a rugged stonelike decoration to her work.
Sally Cole
Fleeting views of the landscape imprinted on her mind influence her work. Printmaking, wood engraving, Lino print, etching on Lino, mixed media and encaustic painting.
Mary Taylor
Mary deconstructs the landscape and intuitively reassembles it without losing all recognition of a place, using various mediums.
Anne Richards
Beautiful textile images from moorland and rugged landscape. Uses hand dyed fabrics and threads with hand and machine surface stitching.
Sarah Trewhella
Inspired by the Environment, the seasons and natural plant and animal forms she is enthused by her observation of the Lizard Peninsula and Helford River areas. Sarah uses Ink and mixed media. Alongside this she also works in glass.
