The Rockpool Beach Cafe is hosting ‘The Best of Fish & Folk’ music and supper evening with live acoustic performances by multi-award-winning singer-songwriter Steve Knightley and a menu crafted by Head Chef of The Rockpool Beach Cafe, Ryan Venning on Saturday 25th September.

Steve Knightley, the founder member of widely acclaimed folk/acoustic ‘Show of Hands’ described by Peter Gabriel as ‘one of the great English bands’, will be providing an up-close gig to no more than 80 people in the newly refurbished private function room at The Rockpool Beach Cafe, Gwithian. Knightley was awarded ‘Best Song’ at the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and will be performing throughout the evening.

Originally from South Africa, armed with impressive foodie credentials, Head Chef of The Rockpool, Ryan Venning, has around two decades’ cheffing experience in Cornwall, having covered the popular beaches around St Ives including ten years at the popular Porthminster Beach Cafe. His recipes have been featured in many well-known cookbooks including Great British Chefs and The Great Cornish Fish Book. His cuisine at The Rockpool provides exceptional quality and flavour yet is unfussy, modern and relaxed.

The Best of Fish & Folk’s menu marries Asian flavours with Cornish, seasonal produce at its best. On arrival at 6 – 6.30pm, guests will enjoy a welcome cocktail and will be asked to be seated by 7pm. Everyone will have the opportunity to try multiple dishes, with plenty of extra helpings. After a feast of starters, mains include dishes such as Wild Sea Bass with Chilli Sambal, Cornish Crab Cakes with Spring Onion and Chilli and Yellow Monkfish and Tiger Prawn Curry to name a few, with desserts and coffees to follow.
