Exquisite cornet solos and duets
Aaron Thomas, who grew up in Troon near Camborne was a member of the National Youth Brass Band until starting his studies at Exeter University. His exquisite cornet solos have brought audiences to their feet across Cornwall and beyond. He has been a member of Camborne Youth Brass Band fo rmany years and was a 2019 regional finalist in the Rotary Club Young Musician of the Year competition.
He will play a selection of pieces that showcase the range of the cornet, an instrument core to the brass band world. Cornish brass bands are amongst the best in the country.
He will be joined in duets by his brother, William, also a fine cornet player who has played in Camborne Youth Band for many years.
Entry is free. Donations are welcome in aid of the restoration of the church’s stained glass windows. These are exceptional for a rural parish church. They are in memory of ordinary people as well as the rich and famous. Crowan Church, founded in 600AD by the Celtic Saint Crewenna, remains the historic centre of life in the parish.
