Together as The Daniel Smith Blues Duo, Daniel and Pete certainly know how to deliver an incredibly varied, personable, informative – also humorous – set of good-time infectious music and a great night out!
Collectively, they put on a dynamic, awe-inspiring and warm show of brilliant blues & boogie woogie. Mature, sensitive, responsive, respectful and funny… they combine a great on-stage rapport and enthusiasm for their music with fantastic, foot-tapping music.
Daniel expertly guides his audience through the great boogie-woogie & blues music, explaining narratives and revealing the essence of some of the classic numbers we all know and love.
His accompanying autobiographical anecdotes – usually self-mocking – add a delightful twist to the stories; whilst some of his musicianship is simply jaw-dropping.
With BBC Radio 2 appearances; international festivals; tours with Chicago blues masters; 18 albums; and numerous blues awards nominations… this is a class act which brings great joy – replete with a real, authentic, good-time, speakeasy feel.
