About this event
The English Music Festival is delighted to return to the magnificent surroundings of Truro Cathedral with three concerts and a fascinating talk. Our day opens with a violin-and-piano recital including Vaughan Williams’s much-loved The Lark Ascending and Elgar’s salon music; celebrated baritone Neal Davies and pianist Nathan Williamson present Vaughan Williams’s Songs of Travel alongside works by Delius, Ireland and Somervell; and the St Mary’s Singers bring the day to a close with glorious works by Walton, Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Orlando Gibbons. A talk will illuminate the fascinating topic of music engraving from its earliest days to current technology.
