About this event
Following Festive Friday (Truro’s Christmas Lights Switch-on) which takes place on 24th November, celebrations continue in the city with The Father Christmas Parade.
Organised by Truro BID, the parade around the city will start at 6.30pm from Boscawen St, and will feature Father Christmas in his sleigh, elves, local community dance groups, musicians, and circus performers.
The Father Christmas Parade will be inspired by Hall for Cornwall’s Christmas Show which this year is Peter Pan, so expect Peter Pans, pirate clans, Tinker Bells and more!
The parade marks the start of the first of four Wednesday late-night shopping evenings in Truro this year, and many City Centre shops will be open until 9pm.
The BIG Christmas Market will be on Lemon Quay, featuring Cornwall’s top-notch artisan traders and producers selling seasonal gifts in festive wooden cabins.
Truro’s main shopping streets will be traffic free all day and there will be a selection of street food in King St and stalls in Boscawen St.
The Father Christmas Parade is being brought to the city by Truro BID and sponsored by Coodes Solicitors, the parade is also supported by Truro City Council.
