The Glass Shack is located in Downderry, on the South East Cornish coast, overlooking the stunning bay towards Looe Island in one direction and Rame Head peninsular in the other. Here you will find the working studio and gallery where owner, Caroline, creates unique pieces of glass art that are perfect for your home. Whether you favour coastal or country living, contemporary city-life, modern or traditional, you will find your unique piece of glass art here – or why not request something to be made especially for you…from a freeform vase, kitchen splash-back, a very personal glass flower to a four-meter wide glass ‘seascape wall’ – just a small sample of the commissions that Caroline has undertaken.

Every piece is designed and handmade, from start to finish, by Caroline and much of her work is inspired by the beautiful coastal and marine environment right on her doorstep. She incorporates colour and texture to reflect the organic, natural beauty around her.

Popping into The Glass Shack will enable a visitor to see Caroline in mid-creation at her workbench and view all the amazing work in progress pieces that fill every little nook and cranny in her workshop! Plus, lots of beautiful glass art works that are available to buy…a perfect gift for that special someone or just a lovely treat for yourself…a wonderful souvenir of your visit to this beautiful area.

As well as creating unique, yet affordable, art pieces and commissions, Caroline also runs workshops, enabling anyone to experience the delight of creating their own piece of handmade glass…workshop options are varied and suitable for absolute beginners or those with a little more glasswork experience.
