The Hopening Ceremony (Lostwithiel)

‘The Hopening Ceremony’ presented by travelling troupe ‘The Bodminarty’ is coming to your village (or town)!

After travelling the world and taking a little break for a century or thereabouts ‘The Bodminarty’ are back to offer a ‘Hopening Ceremony’ to bring joy and laughter to your village in their own unique style of music hall meets Monty Python.

Expect singing, dancing, sketches, scone jokes, chaos and circus acts that never quite made it to the circus! All accompanied by our resident pianist, Marc Jenyon.

About the Troupe:

The newest amdram group in town (specifically Bodmin town). The style of this troupe is rooted in the traditions of Music Hall and Concert Parties and then influenced by the golden age of sketch comedy and British sitcoms. This means the show you get to see is, well, utter chaos and lots of fun!
The show is aimed at that fun-loving panto audience (although not quite as small-child friendly) and packed with Cornish in-jokes, fantastic singing, comedy performance and writing – we also tweak certain elements to make each experience unique to the village or town we are in!

Whilst devising and writing the show themselves, members of the troupe have had masterclasses in ‘showmanship’ from Tony Lidington, Music Hall songs with Marc Jenyon and Stage Combat with Keith Wallis – with more to come!!
