The Housewives’ Itch delves into the complexities of family, friendship, and the search for meaning beyond the traditional roles of wife and mother.

At first glance, the story centres on two friends who, though very different in personality find comfort and camaraderie in each other.

Whilst one of the women loves her role of wife and mother and a simple life the other has an ongoing longing for something “more”—a feeling that there could be a life beyond the confines of the home.

In their witty, heartfelt conversations it’s evident there deep understanding of each other’s strengths and struggles in life.

The strength and humour from their friendship carries the woman through in an ever changing technological and sometimes unsympathetic world.

Their different attitudes towards marriage causes the ultimate test of friendship with the timeless question: Is family life truly fulfilling on its own, or does it leave an ache for something greater?

Their friendship becomes a lifeline, guiding each other through life’s unforeseen twists and turns. Through laughter, tears, and raw honesty, they explore the weight of their choices and the courage it takes to seek happiness, face disappointment and take on new challenges. This play leaves the audience with a feeling of knowing these woman as your taken on emotional journey, one that most people can identify with.
