Opportunity to hear about more the project ‘The next dawn, the next spring’ in a supportive space with other women experiencing childlessness not by choice. Chat with the artist, Melanie Stidolph and hear about the inspiration for the project.

‘The next dawn, the next spring’ will be based on a performance filmed around a rock pool at Treyarnon Bay, Cornwall, where a group of women will sing into the dusk and with the dawn. The film and its future screenings are motivated by the artist’s experiences of infertility and childlessness and aims to bring together women who are childless not by choice, to give a voice to unheard experience and support moving to acceptance and joy.

This session is supported by Yvonne John from Gateway women. Yvonne is a public speaker on childlessness who has appeared on numerous TV and radio programmes and leads inspiring sessions with women who are childless not by choice.

The filming, which will take place on a beautiful part of the Cornish coast is an opportunity to be part of an expression of lived experience that affects 1 in 5 women. To find out more follow the link in this listing for a short film about the project.

The event is being developed through workshops held at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange as part of the exhibition ‘We Are Floating in Space’, which runs until 3 June 2023.
