About this event

The Writers’ Block is excited to announce the launch of its Creative Writing Competition as part of its Summer 2020 season of online events.

The Writers’ Block Competition opens on April 1st 2020 for entries of prose fiction up to 500 words in length or poetry of up to 10 lines written on the theme of ‘Change‘.

There are three age categories for this competition:

8-11 years
12-17 years
18+ years

The closing date for entries is midnight 1st May 2020. Winners will be announced 26th May 2020

The prize will be a ‘Featured Writer’ page on our website displaying the winning writing and a piece about the author. Winners of our 18+ category will also win a copy of our book ‘A Space to Write’, and winners of the 8-11 years and 12-17 years categories will also win a Story Republic CD.

The competition is FREE to enter.

The judges are all writers from The Writers’ Block team – they can’t wait to read your work!
