Kintsugi Experience on the 9th & 11th March, 10:00-1pm - booking essential
About this event
Jon White is a contemporary Cornish seascape painter. Jon’s latest exhibition showcases 15 new contemporary seascape paintings exploring the Celtic heritage and belief in “Thin Places” – places that are often described as spaces that feel other worldly – where the veil between heaven and earth is thin. It is Jon’s conviction that these “Thin Places” don’t simply have to be limited to landscapes but can also be found in more personal and unique ways; a friendship, a favourite mug, a song for example. This body of work is Jon’s celebration of his own experience of “Thin Places” in the Cornish landscape and in his daily life as an artist.
There is a private view on the evening of the 7th between 5 & 7pm. As part of the exhibition Jon will also be facilitating two ‘Kintsugi’ workshops. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken ceramics with gold. Jon recently became the UK’s first officially certified Kintsugi Instructor through Academy Kintsugi.
