Visit the museum after hours and get up close and personal with some of the extensive Royal Cornwall Museum Textiles collection. We’ll be bringing out items from our stores to have a close look with members of the collections team and more. This event celebrates the Costume Showcase exhibitions at the museum and will feature:
Behind the scenes with Jeni Woolcock, RCM Collections and Engagement Manager. Jeni will be talking about the Costume Showcases exhibtion and unboxing costume and textiles from our store.
A talk from Jo at the Crysede Collective about their work keeping the history of the Crysede industry alive. Have a close look at Crysede printing blocks and fabric swatches from the RCM collection.
A chance to hear from Harry from TeX Innovation, who will discuss how TeX supports Cornish communities through textiles and transitioning to a Circular Economy. He will also be bringing along a TeX stall, stocked with products made from surplus textiles.
Textiles printing – print your own tote bag to take home encompassing the Spirit of Cornwall.
A stall from Truro Fabrics, who will be making an appearance with some of their shop items.
