Our ‘Tidings of Joy at Christmastide’ concert will include J.S.Bach’s motet “Singet dem Herrn ein nueus Lied”. Ralph Vaughan Williams “Fantasia on Christmas Carols” chosen to celebrate 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth.
Plus choir Christmas music including ‘O Beatum et Sacrosanctum Diem’ (Phillips) and ‘Virga Jesse floruit’ (Bruckner).
Congregational carol singing is a traditional part of evening’s concert which will be held in the lovely St. Martin’s church in Liskeard.
The choir’s music director, Simon Dunbavand, is looking forward to conducting his first Christmas concert since joining the choir earlier this year.
Refreshments will be on sale during the interval.
