About this event
Maison Fauve is an artist’s residence incorporating attic studio and ground floor gallery. It features the painting archive of Tim Newman aka The Cornish Fauve together with the work of his many artist friends and colleagues between 1988 to the present day.
Tim shared a studio with John Miller at Sancreed House in 1989 -1991, subsequently encountering other kindred spirits such as Romi Behrens, Rose Hilton, Barbara Karn and Roy McInnes all of whom are represented in his collection.
Although earlier on he was mainly a landscape painter , Tim began working with the human figure about 20 years ago and now specialises in studies of the male form. Always both collector and artist , Tim has built up a unique catalogue of traditional and modern work depicting masculine imagery, nicely complementing his landscape works, as well as the ceramics, sculpture and textiles which festoon his residence, and which are also for sale.
