Tin in Antiquities talk with Ben Sumpter. The earliest literate travellers to the British Isles whose texts have survived frequently mention tinworking in connection with Devon & Cornwall. What can studying these texts tell us about the patterns of proto-historic tin trade under the Romans, during the Iron Age and potentially even earlier during the bronze age itself? What place did the British Isles (and Cornwall) play in the pan-European known world?
