About this event
Look at Newquay town centre through new eyes. Join this immersive evening experience which combines dance, theatre, music and storytelling. Coinciding with the super full moon, you will be invited to explore spaces in the town centre that have been transformed and co-created with local people, bringing stories of Newquay’s community to life.
What will come to light on the brightest nights on November’s full moon?
This is a walking tour with a difference! Featuring silent disco headsets, live dance, storytelling 3D art and virtual reality, you will be guided through a 2 hour adventure across Newquay town centre. You will meet characters, be guided through live performances and have a chance to add your own story to our exhibitions and pop up worlds. It is suitable for families and adventurers young and old. We recommend 8yrs old+ or brave little ones!
Created by Rob Mennear, artistic director of GRIT, founder of All Boys Dance, freelance practitioner and dance artist.
This experience will involve walking from one building to another with rest stops and indoor activity along the way. Come prepared for a steady walk and for the weather forecasted. There will be seating & guides provided, with toilet stops and warm spaces in between the short walks. This trail is accessible to those with stability walkers, buggies, walking sticks, guide dogs and wheelchairs. There will be a few slopes and ramps in places.
Please note that haze will be in use during the show. Some of the myths/stories told include references to ghosts and death.
To The Moon & Back is part of Be Newquay Festival – a new season of events, activities and workshops that celebrate Newquay’s culture and creative spirit. Throughout each weekend in November, the festival will be taking place at various venues across the town. Find out what else is on the programme here. Join us and be creatively curious.
