Transforming Tomorrow: Friends of the Earth’s ongoing battle for climate justice presents a unique look at the long history of Friends of the Earth through the lens of its campaigns, past and present, and its vision for the future.

It tells its story threaded through the timeline spanning more than 50 years and features campaign photographs, memorabilia, props and publications.

Friends of the Earth is the world’s largest grassroots environmental network and has been fighting for people and planet since 1971. From national interventions to connecting communities, they fight for a greener, fairer world and believe that change is possible when people stand together and make their voices heard.

They have secured some huge wins for us all and the planet – from bringing the very first Climate Change Act into law in 2008, delivering a Clean Air Act for Wales in 2022, ensuring fracking was stopped in its tracks to continuing to make their voices heard for a future free of fossil fuels.

Their legal and campaign teams are engaged on so many fronts; against the proposed new coalmine in Cumbria, the oil wells in Surrey and the gas caverns in Larne Lough to name a few. They’re keeping up the pressure on the UK government to ensure that the laws that protect the environment are not weakened and they’ve taken legal action against the UK government on its revised but still weak Net-Zero strategy.
