Les Trewin – From Cotswolds to Cornwall

The Cotswold’s and Cornwall have some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole of England. Scenery that includes expansive countryside vista’s dotted with sandstone structures to coastal views full of maritime history. In a fast moving digital age the work intentionally seeks to remind the onlooker to stop for a moment, step away from the pressures of daily life, look up and contemplate the physical around them.

Les originally undertook a degree in fine art in Falmouth between 1983-85 when the campus was based on Woodlane. His love of creativity took him in an unexpected direction and he went on to train as an Art Therapist, using the creative process to support people with mental health challenges. Les eventually progressed to become a Director of Mental Health Services in Gloucestershire and Herefordshire but continued with his own creative process whenever he could. Les has now retired and come back to his spiritual home and settled in Penryn where he can do what he loves the most, immersing himself in painting the world around him.
