Heading East to the Bowgie and Pheasant tonight
Trigg Morris will be visiting the Bowgie Inn, West Pentire TR8 5SE at 8 pm tonight – Then moving on to The Pheasant Inn St Newlyn East TR8 5LJ for another dancce spot at 9 pm, followed by music and song.
Trigg Morris is a Dancing side from Bodmin and membership is open to both men and women. We first performed in July 1971 and we currently perform mainly Cotswold Dance traditions from the Oxfordshire villages of Fieldtown (Leafield), Stanton Harcourt and Bucknell, plus a few dances from Lichfield, Staffs.
Our name is taken from the “Hundred of Trigg”, a former administrative area of Mid Cornwall, and most of our members live within reach of Bodmin. Our costume reflects our rural background, it consists of Black Trousers Black Shoes, White Shirt and Green Baldrics decorated with designs taken from ancient Cornish stone crosses. We also wear decorated straw hats but not worn whilst dancing. Our shows usually feature an appearance from our horse Trigger.
