Truro Cathedral Choir Summer Concert

A cornucopia of choral treasures from the 15th century to the 21st.

The programme will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with music by Byrd (O Lord, make thy servant Elizabeth), Handel (Zadok the Priest) and Philip Stopford (Collect for the Queen); and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Vaughan Williams will be marked with his post-First World War masterpiece ‘Lord, thou hast been our refuge’. There will be barn-storming anthems by Stanford (For lo, I raise up) and Sumsion (They that go down to the sea in ships), with beautiful miniatures by Monteverdi, Assandra, Dering, Purcell, Josquin and Tallis, as well as captivating recent works by living composers Cecilia McDowall, Gail Randall and Giles Swayne.

Tickets will be released on 13 May.

Doors open at 4.15pm with the concert beginning at 5.00pm.

Programmes will be available for purchase on the door.

Refreshments will be available for purchase prior to the concert and during the interval.

Under 18s go free but still need a ticket.
