About this event
Our free 10k runs take place on the fourth Sunday of each month taking in the stunning coastal views around Pentire headland. All abilities are welcome to take part but this is a challenging route on a rugged section of the South West Coast Path. It is a multi-terrain trail run, so we recommend trail shoes for negotiating the mud. Please also consider running clothing suitable for the weather as the headland is quite exposed. Although the route is fully marked, you could bring a phone or device to take a photo of the route.
The run consists of 1.5 loops around and crossing the headland, so there’s also an option to do a shorter 6.35km loop.
Please bring your own timing device if timing is important to you; we don’t provide times, as this is an informal event. We also suggest bringing water to rehydrate. There is a water fountain at the start/end point.
In the event of very bad weather, a final decision on whether the run will go ahead or not will be made at 3pm on the Saturday before. Please check social media for the most up to date information.
Pentire is a working farm and there may be cattle on sections of the route. You will be notified at the start of the run if this is the case. The recommended age of runners is 14 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a non-extendable lead.
Unfortunately, the route is not suitable for buggies as the run is predominantly along the South West Coast Path.
