About this event
Developing its connection with the arts, the Una St Ives resort in Carbis Bay is hosting its inaugural Artist in Residence Exhibition, showcasing the work of Jordan Amy Lee.
Jordan Amy Lee is a London-based Illustrator whose work portrays the beauty to be found in everyday life and has been working with the resort to create a body of work since 2019. The exhibition of Jordan’s commissioned pieces for Una St Ives will be shown alongside a wider body of her work from June 16th for a month. Jordan’s artwork for Una depicts the quality of life across the St Ives areas and includes her unique interpretations of Carbis Bay, Porthmeor Beach and St Ives Harbour.
Playing with composition and proportions, her work is bold and minimal with a graphic feel, softened by delicate handmade textures. Engaging diverse techniques, Jordan’s ‘digital collages’ include ink drawing, painting, printmaking and collage work. As a graduate of Falmouth University, Cornwall holds a special place in Jordan’s heart, with her relationship with Una offering inspiration for her work whilst sustaining her affinity with the Cornish creative scene. In addition to her ongoing relationship with Una St Ives, Jordan has worked with Soho House, HarperCollins and Starbucks, Soho House amongst other clients.
For this inaugural Una Artist in Residence, Jordan’s work will be shown alongside Una’s established art collection featuring Christine Bowen, Judy Willoughby and Nina Brooke. The original and commissioned artwork collection at Una St Ives is an integral and valued facet of the resort’s culture and identity. With Una’s ‘Art of Hospitality’ ethos, the resort is committed to supporting and engaging with creative communities.
