Now in its 16th year of being open to the public, Lemon Street Gallery is one of the UK’s leading contemporary art galleries, located in the buzzing heart of Truro.
Situated in a traditional, elegant building, the gallery is home to creative, unique pieces from well-respected, famous artists as well as from rising stars of the contemporary art world. Artists such as Nicola Bealing, John Bellany CBE, Elizabeth Blackadder and Neil Canning exhibit at the gallery throughout the year, in solo and group exhibitions.
The gallery’s collection of contemporary art draws on Cornwall’s rich modernist tradition and is spread across three well-lit floors, which provide a relaxing and intriguing backdrop to its many fascinating art and sculpture installations.
The Withiel exhibition was curated at Lemon Street Gallery throughout 2016, bringing contemporary art together with landscape in a most unique way. The exhibition featured pieces created in copper, stainless steel, ceramic, glass, stone, bronze and resin, crafted by renowned artists such as Peter Burke, Sally Fawkes, Terence Coventry and Doug Cocker. Other exhibitions are scheduled throughout the year which promise visitors an interesting, intriguing and thought-provoking day out.
Located in the centre of Truro, the gallery is well situated for public transport links. The train station is a short walk away and there are numerous bus links running through the centre of Truro all day long.
