For more than ten years, Wildworks has created its own unique style of theatre with landscapes and people, and has earned itself a reputation for staging some of the most thought-provoking, moving and compelling theatre experiences.
Based in Cornwall, Wildworks tours its shows throughout Europe and beyond and was founded by Bill Mitchell, a renowned director and designer known for his creations of many large-scale projects. The Wildworks approach is totally unique: turning the world into a stage, with performances set in places rich with magical history, telling the intriguing stories of the people who belong to them.
One of this theatre company’s most well-known projects to date is ‘100: The Day Our World Changed’, a one-off collaboration with the Lost Gardens of Heligan which told stories of the brave war-going Cornishmen who hailed from Mevagissey, St Ewe and Gorran, and the families they left behind. This community event was staged in 2014 and involved local performers of all ages, bringing together singers, actors and musicians, as well as local makers and designers.
Wildworks have also performed ‘Yule-Tide Ark-Ive’ at the Eden Project over the last few years, combining live performances, soundscapes, installations and beautiful lighting, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the rainforest in a truly magical way.
With a number of performances toured each year across a variety of venues, a trip to a Wildworks show is an experience you’re unlikely to forget.
