About this event
FIONA OWEN’s paintings show a remarkable insight into the interwoven threads that make up the fabric of life. Her intricate cabinets and illuminations are an honouring of nature, painted in oils on gesso boards and gilded with Italian gold leaf.
TAMSIN ABBOTT’s stained glass panels are inspired by the countryside, folklore and legend; several of them centre on the ancient sites of the Penwith moors.
ANDREW WADDINGTON’s particular vision of the world is interpreted through many layers of complex imagery, creating a multi-faceted landscape.
ANNA NOEL’s magnificent sculptural ceramics define mankind’s close association with animals, while ANNA LAMBERT explores areas close to her home, depicting the changes she sees as a result of our uncertain climate.
RUSSELL WILSON’s felted birds are perched on plinths around a revolving globe (by Fiona Owen) in the centre of one room. The needle-felting process he patiently applies to the creation of each bird is enhanced by hand stitching.
Using the sgraffito technique, NANCY MURGATROYD cuts her designs into bowls, vases and platters. She builds up the image by incorporating different elements of nature in a multiple picture,
Renowned tapestry weaver KIRSTEN GLASBROOK has woven from nettle yarn, which she dyes herself, a series of 4 tapestries expressing life as a labyrinth through which we all journey. Our two jewellers are DUIBHNE GOUGH and GUY ROYLE. Duibhne forms her necklaces by ‘painting with beads’ -semi-precious stones, sea-glass and pearls whilst Guy incises delicate patterns into the silver of earrings, brooches and bangles. Sculpture by HELEN NOCK & REECE INGRAM in the gardens too!
