Written and directed by Olivier award-winning Cornish director Simon Harvey, this is a Cornish tale told by an award-winning Cornish theatre company for the people of Cornwall.
2. St Piran's Day Celebration
St Austell Town Centre

Come and join in the fun at this free community event in St Austell. There will be a wide range on entertainment and things to do throughout the day, including a craft fair, Kernewek taster lessons and music.
There will be a parade around St Austell, culminating in a Trelawney shout – so bring your best singing voices!
3. Crimping Competition

Whether you’re a pasty-making addict or just love a bit of friendly competition, this is your chance to show off your skills and be part of something truly special.
Even if you’re not entering, come along to cheer on the competitors, soak up the festive atmosphere, and celebrate everything we love about Cornish pasties. It’s a day of fun, laughter, and a whole lot of crimping action!
4. Kernow Kino
The Ladder, Redruth

This special event will showcase a collection of locally produced films, giving you a glimpse into the heart of Cornwall’s vibrant film scene. Whether you’re a Cornish native, a film enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique cultural experience, Kernow Kino promises to deliver something for everyone.
The evening will feature a variety of short films, documentaries, and creative works by Cornish filmmakers.
Kernow Kino is presented by C Fylm and Screen Cornwall, funded by the BFI Film Audience Network and UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
5. St Piran Nos Lowen
Buttermarket, Redruth

Redruth’s beautifully restored and vibrant Buttermarket celebrates St Piran with live music by Skillywidden, leading lights of the Nos Lowen style of Cornish Celtic dance music.
Audience: Anyone who likes a bit of a dance, and also anyone who wants to enjoy some of the best Cornish traditional music you’ll ever hear!
6. Cornish Week at Newquay Zoo

At Newquay Zoo, we are proud to celebrate Cornwall’s unique heritage, language, and wildlife. As Cornwall’s only zoo, we want to highlight the deep connections between our local environment and the conservation work we do every day.
Enjoy a Cornish-name animal trail, while spotting black and white (and gold) animals, just like the colours of Cornwall. Devour delicious food at Cafe Lemur including locally sourced pasties and cream teas!

Anyone new to speaking Cornish is encouraged to come along and take their first steps in learning this celebrated language, with the assistance of our friendly and passionate Cornish speaking volunteers.
Wheal Martyn run these sessions monthly, so why not start a new skill!
8. Jackson’s Claret – The Art of Troyl
Sterts Centre, Upton Cross

Jackson’s Claret will present dances with a caller to lead you through the steps, and perform music for Nos Lowen where Cornish dances are led by expert dancers. Nos Lowen is Cornish for “happy night” and you are guaranteed one of those!
Combining tunes, songs, stories and costumed display dances, The Art of Troyl promises a joyful experience for all.
