About this event
The festival is held over four days and features around 60 performances and over 30 bands. There is a parade on the opening morning as well as busking around the town. Performances take place in existing pubs, hotels and halls. Entry is by prepaid four day or one day ticket or by payment on the door. The Festival originated as traditional jazz but now includes a wider variety of styles and there is a determined effort to involve younger bands. The bands are professional musicians from across the UK and even from abroad. One of the venues has a large dance area and there are also dance classes each morning. There is a jazz church service on Wednesday.
