About this event
We will be holding a seminar which will also be live-streamed, entitled ‘Living for Tomorrow; reflections on the challenges and opportunities of living together in a post-Covid world,’ and we are delighted to have with us Lord Williams of Oystermouth, former archbishop of Canterbury, Professor Michael Northcott, an eminent environmental theologian, as well as students from Truro College. Each of them will give a short presentation on the subject, and following a short break, there will be a question-and-answer session for about fifty minutes or so. Bishop Philip will be in the chair.
Hosting G7 focuses the attention on the south-west corner of the British Isles for a few days, and we wanted to give an opportunity to people to voice some of their hopes and aspirations about the future; Covid has clearly impacted upon us in so many ways, and part of that impact could be seen as acting as a catalyst for change that will help humanity become better stewards of God’s glorious creation as we face some immense decisions about our place in the created order. We are sure that our speakers will offer some thoughtful stimulus for our thinking and future action.
It is free to attend but bookings must be made in advance. Tickets to attend are available via the cathedral EVENTBRITE page. This event will be live-streamed on this page on the day and the replay will be available or you can view it via the cathedral YOUTUBE CHANNEL. We will be taking questions to ask our contributors on the day, but we would encourage people to submit some questions beforehand so we can manage that part of the morning with relative efficiency. So, please feel free to submit a question to [email protected].
We are looking forward to this event, and we hope as many people will participate, either in person or online, as possible.
