Omlowenhe – a new film by Taran Spalding-Jenkin

In this short poetic film, writer and performer Taran Spalding-Jenkin celebrates Cornish events and what they mean to us, using home footage donated by the community.

Cornwall 365 is thrilled to share a new film created for our 2021 Cornish Content Commission.

Omlowenhe is a Cornish word meaning ‘to celebrate’. In this short poetic film, writer and performer Taran Spalding-Jenkin celebrates Cornish events and what they mean to us, using home footage donated by the community. It has been a tough year for events, with many of them cancelled or forced to make changes – Omlowenhe is designed to be a thank you to all those who produce or take part in Cornwall’s rich arts and culture scene, and a promise that we aren’t going anywhere.

This film was commissioned by Cornwall 365 and Screen Cornwall, thanks to funding from Arts Council England Culture Recovery Fund, and Cornwall Council Creative Cornwall Calling.
