Clare worked as an actor and arts administrator in London before marrying a boatbuilder and moving to Cornwall. She’s a regular at spoken word events, writes and performs with the all-female ensemble Riot of the Freelance Mind, and is currently working on the first edition of a zine – The Beautifully Mundane – which will be out in October.
Clare’s short stories have been published by Mslexia, Storgy, Litro & Fairlight, and in the anthology An Outbreak of Peace. Her first YA novel Zed and the Cormorants was published in 2021 (Arachne Press) and recently won a Holyer an Gof Publishers’ Award.
