About this event
Based at Porthmeor Studios St Ives, young people are taught contemporary art practice by working artists and start finding their artistic voice.
Inspired by the drawings of Wilhelmina Barns Graham and Sam Winston, visit Porthmeor Beach and the Island, St Ives, to map the movement of water, waves and tide lines. Back at the studio, bring the glittering sea into your pieces by creating extra small-scale works of coloured washes and patterns, repeated rhythms, overlayed, in response to mapping water exercises.
The Porthmeor Art Collective is a chance for young people aged 13 to 16 to connect and develop their creativity through an artist. Using our high-quality materials in our art studio overlooking the sea, your Sunday afternoons have just gotten a lot brighter.
We are happy to announce we can now offer limited FREE Scholarship places for those on low income. Please contact Cat Lee Youth Arts Manager for a Scholarship application form to apply.
Sundays once a month, 2 – 4pm. Come and join a like-minded group of young people who are passionate about art.
