About this event
Come along for a weekend of apple grafting workshops.
We’ll show you how to graft your own apple tree. There will be more than 20 local apple varieties to choose from. No need to book, just drop in. You’ll be able to take away a grafted tree for only a fiver (limited to a maximum of two per person).
£5.00 per tree including workshop. Normal admission changes apply to the venue.
Suitable for ages 16+, Assistance dogs are welcome.
Meet in the education room. No need to book, it’s a rolling programme of workshops.
We’ll show you how to graft your own apple tree that you’ll be able to take away to plant in your garden back home. The tree varieties available on the day are specific to the Tamar Valley, most of which will never be commercially viable so this is a rare opportunity to have these uncommon varieties in your own garden, and you’ll be helping to keep the gene pool alive and conserving the varieties for generations to come. Limit of two trees per workshop. There will be at least 20 different varieties to choose from including Hocking’s Green, Cornish Mother and King Byerd. The apples are a range of cooking apples, eating apples delicious straight from the tree or cider apples. Rootstock types are M9 (Dwarf), MM106 (Medium), M25 (large and vigorous).
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 February 2020, 11am-4pm
