About this event
I’m a professional basket maker, willow artist and willow grower using long-established traditional skills to produce both traditional and contemporary baskets. I work sustainably using willow grown on my withy beds and materials harvested from the local area. Working out of a recently constructed workshop overlooking the countryside I take inspiration from my surroundings.
In addition to the pieces I have for sale, I offer workshops where you will learn traditional basketry skills and I also offer bespoke commissions to clients.
I began weaving approximately 10 years ago when I attended a workshop. As soon as I smelt and touched the willow I knew I had found my craft.
When visiting my studio you will be able to watch weaving in progress as well as browsing the pieces available for sale.
I am passionate about helping the ancient craft of weaving continue into the future and love to talk about my craft to other enthusiasts and also those who just want to give it a go – you never know you might get hooked.
