About this event
Catherine is a Cornish painter whose use of colour in her paintings drawings and prints is a sumptuous evocation of her beloved land and seascapes, her journeys sailed and walked throughout Cornwall, Scilly, Scotland, Eire, New Zealand and Chile. Catherine’s work is in private collections around the world and some collectors have been charting her work for 30 years.
Catherine works in the landscape using both watercolour and oil bars to draw and the immediacy of working en plain air is carried through into her larger paintings made in her painting studio which is converted goat shed on the coast. Printmaking and drawing happens at the Beehive Gallery on Bread Street in Penzance at the top of Arcade steps. Catherine shares this workspace with Felicity Robertson – paintings, Julia Mills – glass, Valentine Jefferson – mosaics and Hugo Jones – paintings. So there is a rich seam of work to explore.
Work for sale starts at less than £50 for a small mounted print, up to £3,000 for large oil paintings on canvas with a simple white wood frame. Payment plans can be made for larger works. Delivery worldwide.
Fresh coffee will be served.
