About this event
I am an abstract expressionist currently working in acrylics and alcohol inks. As an artist, my sense of colour and perspective have always been strong, painting how I feel in that moment and always immersing myself in music while I paint. I admire the work of many artists, from Picasso to Jackson Pollock and more recently, Bob Dylan.
I’m generally influenced by the colour and sound of my environment. In many ways, abstract expressionism is akin to poetry and should connect with the viewer on an emotional level. I often paint using only my hands and acknowledge that this allows an intimate, almost sensual bond between myself and the canvas. For me, every painting is born out of a catharsis. Working on some pieces has literally left me emotionally exhausted.
I have exhibited in Dublin, Belfast, York and now live and exhibit in Cornwall.
I will be available to discuss my work for the duration of the Open Studios event. There will be several paintings on display, which are all currently for sale, as well as giclée prints during the event itself.

Details
As my studio is in a very small cottage, there is no accessibility for people with mobility difficulties, unfortunately.
Directions
Menheniot is approximately 1 mile off the A38 just a couple of miles east of Liskeard and is only accessible by car. My home studio is opposite The Salon hairdressers in Church View. There is on-street parking available. W3W: grit.convinces.gladiators
