About this event
Now living a reclusive life, he’s not spoken about that fateful night for nearly fifty years. However, after a session with his therapist, he embarks on a series of media interviews which pitch him into the public eye. He triggers an unstoppable stream of revelations and speaks truth to power.
Eons ago, Richard attended the Birmingham School of Speech Training & Dramatic Arts, affectionately known as The Birmingham School of Talking Proper & Dramatic Tarts. Since then, he’s alternated between Pantos, Theatre, Radio, but mostly Theatre in Education. In 2007 he and his good friend, Jules Hobbs, set up a T.I.E. company called Finding The Will to deliver Shakespeare workshops to Primary Schools all over the country. He has written and performed 3 monologues on Shakespearean characters and a two-hander play called Naming The View based on The Taming Of The Shrew. Huge gratitude and admiration to Popp Theatre for producing Gwaryjy and creating a little normality in a mad, mad world.
Call Me Oz: Written and performed by Richard Curnow.
Edmonton Fringe Canada. ***** A short but excellent one-man show which is funny, poignant and interesting. Highly recommended. This monologue is indeed – “A hit, a palpable hit.”
Masks must be worn. Please do not attend if you have symptoms of Covid 19.
