About this event
Beating the Bounds is a traditional custom where, once a year, communities walked the boundary of their parish and created a shared mental map of home.
Each walk will be led by poet and historian Mark Camp and will vary in length and difficulty.
For this walk we’re heading to Morwenstow. Starting at Morwenstow Church, with its shipwreck burials we will walk out to the cliffs then along to Sharpnose Point via Hawker’s Hut (The smallest National Trust property in the country). At Sharpnose we will head inland through Cross bones with a debrief at the Bush Inn before a short walk back to the cars. 3 Miles. Varied terrain including unfenced cliff edges.
We encourage participants to come with cameras to document the trip, but ask you to leave dogs at home. You are welcome to sign up for both walks or just one. If you’d like any further information please email [email protected]
This project is part of the Hello Stranger programme led by Wildworks and is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
