Gwary Teg Theatre presents Give Un Fitz! The Ballad of Bob Fitzsimmons.

The Triumphs and Tragedies of a Cornish Boxing Legend.

Gwary Teg Theatre, in association with the Welcome Back Fund, presents a new play based on the life of the legendary Helston-born boxer Bob Fitzsimmons.

Written by award-winning Cornish playwright Alan M.Kent, Give Un Fitz! will premiere at the Epworth Centre in Helston from 18th – 24th April 2022. Gwary Teg [Cornish: ‘Beautiful Play’] Theatre have been established for over ten years and continues to present Cornish-themed and inspired works to audiences in Cornwall and beyond.

The play shows in dramatic form the tragedies and triumphs of the boxer’s life. It will star Penzance-based professional actor Adam Trembath will play the titular boxer, supported by a large community cast. Directed by Jason Squibb – famed for his success in recently directing Ordinalia at St Just-in-Penwith.

Audiences will be assured of lots of action, lots of Cornish humour and dialect, and a brae ol’ bit of fisticuffs!

Wheelchair access via the main entrance. Lift access to the main auditorium and disabled toilets are accessible on the auditorium level. On-site parking is not available - for evening performances, audiences will be able to park outside in designated bays. Audio description, captioned/signed performances are not available.
