About this event
The Cornish landscape, flowers and my son are the three major influences in my art.
My son has profound autism and I have learned from him to observe the world from a different angle. My collages reflect our lives, slightly removed and at times uncomfortable. They enable me through colour and text to transcribe his world. A suggestion of a different life. Colour too is important to my work, not just to create feeling. I have synesthesia so colour to me takes on a different meaning. My landscapes are influenced by this and my connection to surroundings and the elements.
I cannot help but be influenced by the flowers I grow. Giving new life to seedheads and pressed flowers I create monoprints sometimes adding watercolour reflecting the changing seasons.
